The geology of Indonesia is become an important subject for geological studies after the success of plate tectonic concept introduced, accepted and involved in a multi disciplinary sciences. The tectonic complexity of the region is due to convergence of three major plates : Eurasian plate, IndoAustralian plate and Pacific plate (see General Tectonic). Most of basins stratigraphy successions and structural developments found in this region are related to these plates histories.
This web based geological informations is all my my personal opinion and understanding geology of Indonesia region. I create this site to give a preliminary geology of the region. The contents of this site may be reproduced for scientific references.
